Mora Trail climbs from the forest in Rancho San Antonio to the hills above, providing an opportunity to enjoy the views of the hills and see wildlife. It lies on the park boundary, reminding us of what the reserve could have become without the conservation efforts made to protect it. You can start the trail at its intersection with LowMeadow Trail for a steeper ascent or follow Rogue Valley Trail to Ravensbury Trail, where Mora Trail crosses it. The trail offers a pleasant hike in the evening when the animals come out to feed.
Highlights
- The fields along the path can be full of wild animals, especially in the evenings or mornings, where deer, turkeys, and coyotes can often be seen.
- The trail offers a fantastic view of the reserve and its surroundings, providing insight into what the preservation of the area has saved.
- The steep descent from Mora Trail to Lower Meadow Trail winds through the fields and passes an old tree, providing a beautiful conclusion to the hike.
