Race description
The Björnfrossa ultramarathon is a scenic yet challenging trail race of approximately 65 km in the bear territories of Gästrikland, starting and finishing at Kungsberget's leisure facility. The course mainly follows Gästrikeleden, Lenåsleden, and Fäbodleden, offering technical trails, gravel roads, several beautiful viewpoints, and approximately 1200 meters of total elevation gain. The race is organized by the Björnfrossa organizing association and has strong local roots — the idea was born in 2017 by a group of runners from Sandviken. All levels wishing to experience long-distance trail running in the region are welcome, but the race is not an officially sanctioned competition.

Additional information
Maximum time: 12 hours. Four staffed water stations along the course with water, sports drinks, and light refreshments; trash bags are available for waste. Bib numbers are distributed at the start area and must be worn visibly throughout the race. No drop bag service is offered — everything you want to carry must be taken from the start. Recommended equipment: mobile phone with map and an emergency number to be provided later; no formal equipment requirements but prepare for several hours between stations. Medical personnel are available at the start/finish; on the course, participants are responsible for themselves and in case of emergency call 112. Four staffed water stations; drop bags are not offered; approximately 15 km between each water station; medical support at start and finish; 112 in case of emergency; not an officially sanctioned race.
