Västerås Stadslopp

Västerås Stadslopp is organized by Västerås Friidrottsklubb and invites everyone to a welcoming, family-friendly day of running in the city on Sunday, 7 June 2026. The event offers races for adults (including 10 km and 2.5 km), three children’s race distances, and a Para Race for participants with disabilities. There is a four-person team category with a picnic/food hamper as the prize, activities for children in Vasaparken, and every participant receives a city race medal. The organizer encourages people to register early, as places in the children’s races are limited and have sold out in previous years.

The children’s races have three untimed distances (approximately 200 m, 400 m, and 800 m) and are limited to a maximum of 400 children. Teams of four receive a food hamper from Hemköp Malmaberg (the deadline for team registration is 31/5), and team members do not have to run the same race. Race numbers can be collected in the days before the event; they must be attached with safety pins and worn visibly on the stomach/chest. Friskis & Svettis leads a warm-up approximately 10 minutes before each race. Participants in the Para Race receive a medal and a goodie bag. There is no prize-giving or timing for the 2.5 km race; honorary prizes go to the top three finishers in the 10 km and 5 km races. Companies can book a tent (5000 kr) or a beach flag (2500 kr) via henrik@vasterasfriidrott.se. Team registration is available (teams of four receive a food hamper after finishing). All participants receive a medal and a goodie bag at the finish. There are water stations along the course and activities in Vasaparken during the event.
