Uppsala Marathon takes place on a single-loop course through historic settings, including the Viking graves in Old Uppsala, and passes by the largest cathedral in the Nordics, with the start and finish at Uppsala Castle. The race offers scenic surroundings along the shores of Ekoln and the Fyris River, as well as through the center of Uppsala via the pedestrian street and the city park. Uppsala Marathon features marathon and half marathon distances, which are sanctioned by the athletics federation and meet the requirements for a "Certified Race." All finishers receive a nice shirt and a sleek and beautiful medal!
Highlights
- One runs in picturesque surroundings along the shores of Ekoln and Fyriså, but also through the center of Uppsala via the pedestrian street, Svartbäcken, the city garden, and past the iconic Studenternas.
- The race is environmentally friendly, which means we avoid single-use cups. You bring your own bottle or cup – or you can get a free reusable cup from us.
- The course is well marked, and volunteers are present at key locations, aid stations, and intersections. The course has been officially measured by federation course measurer Fredrik Swahn, ensuring that it is 42.195 kilometers long.
