Tolvanloppet

Ålsten, Bromma

Race description

The Tolvanloppet is a historic race for all ages, with children's races in the morning and an adult race at 12:30. There are two classes to choose from, 6 or 12 kilometers, with or without timing. The course is as beautiful as it is challenging (it's not completely flat…), starting and finishing on Ålstensgatan, which features perhaps the most impressive starting straight in Swedish racing. In between, runners navigate the streets of Bromma, where it feels like running through gardens in apple blossom. This experience is enhanced by the many neighbors who come out to cheer or even set up their own small water stations or sprinklers – each providing a refreshing touch in its own way. Among other things, this has given rise to the race's slogan: Stockholm's most charming running event.

Highlights

  • The course is 12.0 km, officially measured by Birger Fält (authorized course measurer) in the spring of 2008.
  • The course features several quite steep climbs, especially the two hills on Grönviksvägen in the last quarter of the course.
  • The Tolvan Race is a recreational race that has been organized by Bromma IF for over 35 years.
