Sommarro Snabbare

Sommarro Snabbare is a unique, fast-paced running race in the Sommarro cultural reserve in Örebro. The race follows a 2.6 km loop through a wooded park setting, with each lap having to be completed in progressively less time (the first lap in 25 minutes, the next in 24 minutes, the third in 23 minutes, and so on), making the race faster with every lap. Everyone starts on equal terms, and the winner is the one who lasts the longest—making it suitable both for fast runners and for those looking to challenge their endurance. There is also Lilla Sommarro Snabbare for children born in 2013 or later (one lap, no timing).

Mandatory race briefing at 10:45; warm-up with Nordic Wellness before the start. Timing is done with a transponder worn around the ankle (number of laps is the main factor in placing; if tied, the time on the final lap decides). A lost transponder incurs a charge of 800 SEK. Water/sports drink (Umara) and an energy station are available, along with light refreshments. Changing facilities/showers are not available; there are two public toilets nearby. Parking at Sommarro Värdshus and Lugnets IP; city bus 7 stops at Halltorpsvägen.
