Kanallöpet

Kanallöpet is a welcoming running event along the Göta Canal between Ljungsbro and Borensberg, open to competitive runners, recreational runners, and families. In 2026, a half marathon (competitive and recreational categories), as well as 10 km and 5 km recreational races, will be offered, and this year's edition has DM/VDM status for the half marathon. The start is at 13:00 at each starting point, and the finish line is at the sports ground Bergvallen in Borensberg. The race is promoted as a competition in beautiful Swedish nature and also offers team registration.

Transport: buses are arranged from Borensberg to each start location (half marathon to Ljungsbro, 10 km to Sjöbacka, 5 km to Brunneby) and are booked/paid for during registration (no transport offered after the finish; seat on race day possible subject to availability). The bus fare listed on registration pages is 100 SEK. Team registration: teams of 5 runners, all in the same category; price per runner is 20% lower than individual registration, and team registration can only be done online. Bib numbers are collected at each start location. Registration is valid only after payment is received; if payment is not received within 10 days, the registration is canceled. A detailed information sheet (PM) will be provided later. Start locations: 21 km from Ljungsbro, 10 km from Sjöbacka bridge, 5 km from Brunneby Musteri; bus to the start from Borensberg; registration via Swish or bank transfer; late registration between 11:30 - 12:30 with increased price; bib-laps are collected at the start location.
