Kanallöpet

Kanallöpet is a welcoming race along the Göta Canal between Ljungsbro and Borensberg with courses for half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km recreational running, as well as a competitive class for the half marathon. The race is aimed at competitive runners, recreational athletes, and families, and in 2026, Kanallöpet will have DM/VDM status in the half marathon. The start takes place at the Sports Hall in Ljungsbro (half marathon), at Sjöbacka Bridge (10 km), and at Brunneby Musteri (5 km), with the finish line at the sports ground Bergvallen in Borensberg. Organizing clubs are Borensberg IF, Vreta SoMK, and OK Skogsströvarna.

Transport: Buses are arranged from Borensberg to each start (booked and paid for during registration); bus costs 100 SEK and no transport is offered after the finish (option to book on race day at the location). Team registration: A team of 5 runners is available in the recreational classes, with a price per runner 20% lower than individual registration, team registration only via online registration. Bib numbers are collected at each start location. Registration and payment: payment via Swish or bank transfer; registration is valid only after payment is received, and if payment is not received within 10 days, the registration is canceled. Cross-country running along the Göta Canal between Ljungsbro and Borensberg; registration and payment via www.kanallopet.com as well as Swish or bank transfer; late registration between 11:30 and 12:30; medals including a special medal for participants up to 16 years old; no bus transport back after the finish.
