Race description
Göteborgsvarvet is a well-known half marathon (21.0975 km) festival in Gothenburg that attracts tens of thousands of runners and hundreds of thousands of spectators along the course. The race takes place in a festival atmosphere in Slottsskogen, continues along Hisingen’s quays, and past the pulse of Avenyn. The course is measured by a World Athletics-certified course measurer and the event is complemented by Göteborgsvarvet Expo and many spectator and music stations along the route. Information about start groups and details are sent in the start confirmation approximately two weeks before the race.

Additional information
The distance is a half marathon (21,097.5 m) and the course is measured by a World Athletics-certified course measurer. There are water stations along the course and an interactive course map/GPX will be published closer to the race. Start groups are assigned according to seeding rules; detailed start times and locations for your start group are sent in the start confirmation approximately two weeks before the race. Göteborgsvarvet Expo and Runners Zone are located in Göteborgsvarvet Arena/Slottskogsvallen. Registration is closed for 2026; seeding rules and start groups are available; the 21 km course passes Slottsskogen, along Hisingen’s quays, and past Avenyn; part of Varvet Week.
