Göteborg Marathon

Göteborg Marathon is a classic race taking place for the 52nd time in 2026, offering marathon and half marathon distances, with the start and finish inside the historic Slottsskogsvallen. The course was officially measured in 2024. It is a flat, straight out-and-back course that follows the cycle path along the old railway embankment by the coast, with the turnaround at Lilla Amundön. Half marathon runners complete one lap and marathon runners two, offering good opportunities for fast times. The race is organised by Solvikingarna, with the race centre at Friidrottens hus.

The race centre is Friidrottens hus (bib pickup and race-day registration). Start groups: 10:00 Marathon; 10:30 Half marathon (estimated time under 1:45); 10:45 Half marathon (estimated time over 1:45). Aid stations are located at approximately 4.2 km, 8.4 km, 12.6 km and 16.8 km, offering water, sports drink, Coca-Cola, bananas and raisins. After finishing, all participants receive a drink, a banana, coffee/tea and a sandwich. Personal drinks/energy can be transported to the aid stations. The registration deadline is race day, 2026-10-10 at 09:00, if the race is not full; it is possible to transfer or sell a place through MittLopp until 2026-10-07 for a fee of 100 kr. The distance can be changed until 2026-10-07 or on race day up to one hour before the start (any difference in the entry fee may apply). Participants must be at least 17 years old during the year. Distances: marathon and half marathon. In 2025, more than 500 people started (514 participants, 354 finishers), according to the results page. The race takes place in October. The start and finish of Diabetes Wellness Göteborg Marathon 2025 were at Slottsskogsvallen.
